WHO ARE WE?

Students for a Just Society is a student-led organization at American University fighting for criminal justice reform through education and real action. This translates to research-based social media graphics, academic journal articles made simple on our SJS Research Blog, and shared articles and think-pieces about the criminal justice system on our Reading Lists. It is our mission to make complicated criminal justice issues understandable to the general public so that we can all contribute to change in an informed way.

The true measure of our character is how we treat the poor, the disfavored, the accused, the incarcerated, and the condemned.

- Bryan Stevenson, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption
